Human Writes is an independent consultancy service led by Sheherezade Kara since 2015.

Human Writes supports organisations, foundations, and institutions to strengthen strategy, learning, and collaborative practice. We work with partners across Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas to develop approaches that are grounded in evidence, shaped through participation, and designed to lead to meaningful and sustainable impact.

Human Writes has delivered strategic, research, and capacity-building projects for the United Nations, philanthropic foundations, and civil society networks in Geneva, New York, Amsterdam, Berlin, Buenos Aires, Bangkok, Hanoi, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Guangzhou, Johannesburg and beyond.

Highlights include contributing to human rights legal guidance cited by regional and national courts; developing a UN system-wide inclusion policy; designing a global human rights training curriculum implemented across 40 field offices; shaping grant-making strategies for major foundations; drafting UN reports and policy materials; and creating evaluation and learning frameworks that inform multi-country programmes.
